A Multi-phase Upgrade
A new science block and Grade II listed building were the centrepieces of a 4-phase upgrade to a secondary school in the Tredegar Conservation Area. The science block provided a new school entrance, dining hall, school auditorium, science classrooms and roof level multi-use games area (MUGA). The materials used externally respond to the red and orange brick and white features of the existing building. The Edwardian Grade II listed school building was given a new lease of life as an arts and music block. An old council office building was also refurbished into a sixth form block and included a roof level students’ garden. More recent buildings were upgraded or refreshed to be fully accessible.
